OPTICS - November 2012 - PARMS take-off to IBS quality levels |

Over the last 10 years the HELIOS sputtering machine with plasma assisted reactive sputtering PARMS technology has shown remarkable results in production of interference filters from UV to the NIR spectral range. The process technology in combination with state of the art layer monitoring system sets new standards in high productivity of high end optical filters. The introduction of PARMS with RF sputtering qualified the technology for high laser induced damage threshold LIDT results. OPTICS - October 2012 - New White Light Photometer (WLP) for monitoring of absorbing layers for sun lens coatings |

For absorbing layers of sun lens coatings Leybold optics developed a new optical monitoring system. The new photometer is a transmission measurement system and detects the absorption value over the spectral range directly on the sun lens during the coating. A comparison of the WLP to common used monitor systems shows that the WLP gives 5 to 10 times better absorption accuracy in production.
