LEYBOLD OPTICS wins the first order for a colour coating mass production system in the car lighting industry

Alzenau, January 07, 2008

LEYBOLD OPTICS, a leading manufacturer of equipment for the vacuum coating of three-dimensional parts, wins the order for the first mass production application of reactive sputtered colour layers in the car lighting industry.

The reactive sputtering process is implemented into the field-proven, mass production capable PylonMet system platform.

This process provides a reproducible, dry vacuum deposition of layers in a wide colour range.

The LEYBOLD OPTICS colour coating process is applicable for further products such as mobile phone housings and various consumer goods.
