TC-X: The easiest way to provide hydrophobic coatings
Alzenau, 05/2006
The latest innovation from the house of LEYBOLD OPTICS: TC-X is an easy-to-handle system that produces perfect hydrophobic coatings on optical lenses. The new development convinces with a unique cost-benefit ratio - the small automatic machine is very reasonably-priced while providing an efficient improvement of your production. Thanks to this 'one-button-machine', the entire process of hydrophobic coating can be outsourced and will then take less than 20 minutes. As a consequence, the availability of the more efficient systems in the production line increases and there is no need to clean the chambers of these systems from the hydrophobic layers.
The philosophy behind this is quite simple: each system does what it is best at doing. And TC-X applies perfect hydrophobic layers to optical lenses. The new system was developed as a supplement to the company's CCSII series of systems. Therefore the use of the same paddles, the devices that take up the lenses, allows for quick and uncomplicated transfer to the TC-X system after the anti-reflective coating on a CCSII or a BOXER.
But TC-X is not just limited to cooperating with other LEYBOLD OPTICS systems. In principle, any kind of uptake can be implemented. The company from Alzenau even offers the adaptation as part of its customer service. The basic configuration can take up 40 lenses on the flat rotary table which constitutes the heart of the system.

About LEYBOLD OPTICS
As a prominent manufacturer of vacuum coating systems and developer of processes for the thin film technology, LEYBOLD OPTICS is represented in thirteen countries worldwide. The main focus of our processing technologies is on evaporation, sputtering and plasma-assisted coating processes for display technology, ophthalmics, precision optics, reflective and protective coatings, web coating, R&D, and special applications.
The basis of our success was laid in Germany 150 years ago by Ernst Leybold and Wilhelm Carl Heraeus. They addressed their pioneering spirit to the search for new manufacturing processes and founded our internationally recognized vacuum-technology company, which has set market standards ever since.
