SILMO 2004: Leybold presents its latest range of products

Zeiss, Rodenstock, Luxottica, Essilor, Sola and others - the clientele is just as varied as the manufacturers themselves: for 40 years LEYBOLD OPTICS has supplied the big names in the international ophthalmic industry with systems for the coating of their glasses. And the engineers from Alzenau have always set the standards: whether for prescription or mass production - Leybold’s business division ‘Ophthalmic & Health’ (O&H) stands for systems without any compromises. Thanks to innovative technologies even trends are made possible. ‘Fashion Coatings’, for example, are popular processes performed by Leybold coating systems.
At the Salon International de l’Optique Lunetterie (SILMO) in Paris LEYBOLD OPTICS now presents its latest range of products. Among them, there is SYRUS II, the well-known coating system designed for series of stock production. Large charge capacities, high-speed throughput, and high process stability are the most prominent features of this system.
The current BOXER model is fit for prescription as well as for mass production. This maintenance-friendly system is suitable for clean room use. An effective electron beam evaporator does its work at the center of the coating chamber. Thanks to the unsurpassed LEYBOLD know-how the component parts of this system can be assembled in various cost-effective combinations to meet the individual requirements of the customer.
The smallest system in the O&H series is called CCS II. As this system takes up just two square meters of space LEYBOLD OPTICS proves here that small dimensions and reliability, flexibility, and high productivity are no longer mutually exclusive. For small coating labs the Alzenau based company has a ‘light’ variant type on offer. The ‘CCS II light’ convinces thanks to its low initial cost and its absolute flexibility. When a firm grows, this system can grow along with it.
LEYBOLD’s ‘LabSolutions’ are also based on CCS II. The two complete solutions for AR coating are called ‘MiniLab’ and ‘EasyLab’. With them, LEYBOLD OPTICS offers its customers complete laboratories, with ultrasound cleaning, dip or spin coating, degassing oven, clean room work-place, and quality control on a minimum area of room space.
