K 2004: Reflection & Protection
Alzenau, 10/2004
The latest vacuum technique is the business that LEYBOLD OPTICS deals in. Here the business unit ‘Reflection & Protection’ concentrates on the coating, metallization and decoration of 3-dimensional molded parts. Headlights or wheel covers for cars, light reflectors, electromagnetic shieldings, or lids for cosmetic bottles - the LO specialists develop innovative solutions for any conceivable field of application, which will give customers an advantage over their business competitors.
The latest development is called PylonMet. Meeting the requirements of ‘just in time’ manufacturing by combining high-speed throughput with excellent coating results, this sputtering system is very interesting for customers from the automobile industry. The PylonMet can even handle the metallization of large substrates that fit into a working envelope of up to 620 mm (24") in diameter and 1,070 mm (42") in length without any problems. PylonMet can carry out various processes - from the Leybold patent ‘Haze-No-More’ (an anti-fog process) to PECVD top und base coat and metallization - by means of the high rate, IPT sputter cathodes.
For more information about LEYBOLD OPTICS, our division ‘Reflection and Protection’ and, of course, PylonMet come and see us at K 2004 at booth D12 in hall 4. Business Unit Manger Gerd Ickes is looking forward to your visit.
