Job Description
LEYBOLD OPTICS USA Inc, a leader in the design and manufacture of high-vacuum coating equipment, has an immediate opening for a Service Engineer for the installation, acceptance, qualification, and repair of high-vacuum coating system, evaporation systems, vacuum components, and full process systems used in precision optics, telecoms, automotive lighting and ophthalmic coating markets. Duties will include:
- Diagnosis and detection of the quality of vacuum and residual gases inside the vacuum coating system;
- Diagnosis, repair, and service of various vacuum pumps and systems;
- Creating anti-reflective processes;
- Providing technical support to customers both on-site and by phone;
- Acting as liaison between customers and management to resolve technical issues; and
- Conducting customer training sessions utilizing experience/knowledge of the operation, maintenance, and repair of Balzers and/or high-vacuum coating chambers.
Requirements include: Bachelor's degree* (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and two (2) years of related experience, including experience with vacuum pumps and systems repair; Residual Gas or Helium Leak detector; and anti-reflective process design and troubleshooting.
*Will accept no degree & 4 years in the job offered or as a Maintenance Engineer in lieu of the above, or any other suitable combination of education, training or experience.
