AluMet - Family of systems for the thermal evaporation of aluminum
Hundreds of our AluMet systems designed for the thermal evaporation of aluminum are in operation all around the world. For decades this process has been a popular method in the plastics industry. Here, molded parts are mounted on revolving cages. An even and regular coating is then achieved by rotation around the source of evaporation.
Minimal cycle times
With the AluMet system family, LEYBOLD OPTICS offers solutions for this field which allow for high-quality coatings at minimal cycle times. The standard chamber diameter is 1.8 meter with a useable height of 1.5 meter.
Process monitoring guarantees for quality
An efficient pumping system and a programmable logic controller make sure that perfect results are achieved despite the extremely short process times of AluMet. PECVD (Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapour Deposition) technology is integrated for the deposition of base and top coat.
